2021 All Breed Dog Show

Changes to the Covid19 Rules for our June 24, thru 27 Show

June 22, 2021 Update

The CKC has had multiple conversations with Clackamas County Public Health and Clackamas County Fairgrounds and Event Center about the mask requirement as outlined in the premium list.

At this time, the County and Fairgrounds agreed that Masks will be Optional at the Clackamas Kennel Club shows and specialties in accordance with the guidance issued by the State of Oregon in mid May.

  • Signs will be posted about the Oregon Health Authority’s strong recommendation for those unvaccinated or who are at risk for severe COVID-19 disease to continue to wear a mask.

  • Please note that Judges can still require a mask in their ring.  Signs will be posted at each ring with this information.

Please note – Social Distancing is STILL REQUIRED and this is a SHOW and GO format

Weather Warning:

A severe heat wave is forecast for the dates of the CKC Shows.

The CKC and Fairgrounds will be doing the following:

  • kid wading pools filled with water will be placed around the grounds for the dogs
  • there will be several misters placed at various locations around the grounds
  • there will be a cooling room (indoor air-conditioned space) available for people and dogs who begin to feel overheated
  • bottled water will be available at the Main Pavilion

Please remember that this is a SHOW and GO show. Do not come to the show grounds more than 15 minutes before your ring time and leave immediately when completed. Social distancing is still required.

May 15, 2021 Update  The following is an overview, please see the Premium List for complete show details.

Saturday and Sunday All-Breed Shows are strictly show and go. Bring your dogs to ringside no sooner that 15 minutes before your expected judging time and leave when your dog is not required for further judging. No grooming ringside, no pop ups allowed. Social distancing and masks always required. If you are showing multiple breeds please return to the parking area until 15 minutes before your additional breeds, there is no crating space around the rings.

Specialty Shows. We understand that these events take longer and the show and go rules do not work well.  Masks are always required when on the grounds. When you bring dogs and crates to your ring area, please keep social distance from other set ups. Pop ups allowed but must be removed Friday night. Social distancing and masks required between specialties and during meal breaks.

Unloading. There is no unloading area. All exhibitors will park in either the Red lot [Lot A on the map] or the Blue lot [Lot B on the map]. You will then bring your dogs across 4th ave onto the fairgrounds. Enter through the Red or Blue gate only. Have entry acknowledgement ready to show.

Grooming. There is no grooming space, bring your dogs ready to show. You may do light grooming in the parking lot. You may not use more than one parking spot to groom. Groom directly behind your vehicle. No grooming is to be done ringside.

Day Parking. $5.00 All day parking will be in the Red Lot [A on the map] or the Blue Lot [B on the map] Breeds shown in Rings 1 through 8 use the Red lot if possible. Breeds in rings 9 to 15 use the Blue Lot [B on the map] if possible Both lots are basically gravel.

Overnight Parking. When within your own site (your 25 x 40-foot space), masks are recommended but not required. When you are outside your site, masks and social distancing are required, no exceptions. No parties or large gatherings are permitted.

Handicap Parking. All handicap parking will be in the first row of the Red and Blue lots. This is on gravel across 4th AVE from the fairgrounds.

Vendors. We hope to have 2 general show vendors in attendance.

Meetings and group Activities. We Must be authorized in advance by the Clackamas Kennel Club show chair.

March 8, 2021 Update   The CKC is monitoring State and County COVID rules and requirements. At this time, we are planning a conformation only “Show and Go” format for our all-breed shows on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27.  The state will provide another update at the end of April at which time we will be able to provide additional information.

February, 2021 Update  While we were unable to hold our 2020 show due to Covid-19 we have been holding regular conference call meetings.  At our last meeting we finalized donations to the following organizations.

  • Clackamas County 4H dog Advisory Group.
  • F.I.D.O. Our local Canine Dog Food Bank.
  • N.A.I.A. National animal interest Alliance.
  • AKC Canine Health Foundation.

We feel it is important to continue to support these important organizations.

We are busy working on our 2021 show,  June 25, 26, 27.  We have our Judging panel and it up on the AKC site. It is likely that we will still be dealing with Covid-19 pandemic at some level.  We expect that there will be some changes to the format of our show, we will keep you all posted on the details as they are made available.  Currently we hope to be able to host the usual independent specialties on Friday June 25, 2021
